INTERIOR DESIGN
Interior design is my hobby and passion, and I have a flair for it, having completed multiple interior design projects in my own home and for others. I focus on key concepts such as space planning, where I arrange furniture and design elements to make the best use of space, considering the function of each area to ensure efficient flow and accessibility. Understanding color theory is crucial, as I use different color schemes to create various atmospheres like calm, energetic, or cozy. Proper lighting enhances both functionality and aesthetic appeal, so I incorporate natural light, ambient lighting, task lighting, and accent lighting. The choice of materials and textures, such as wood, metal, and fabric, adds depth and interest to my designs. When selecting and arranging furniture, I consider scale, proportion, and harmony with other design elements. Accessories and decor, including decorative items, artwork, plants, and textiles, personalize a space and add character, and I enjoy finding unique pieces to complete my designs. Sustainability is also important to me, so I make eco-friendly design choices, such as using sustainable materials and energy-efficient lighting.
In terms of design styles, I appreciate the sleek and uncluttered look of modern design, characterized by clean lines, simple color palettes, and the use of materials like glass, steel, and concrete. I enjoy incorporating the latest trends into my designs, reflecting the fluid and ever-changing nature of contemporary style. Minimalist design, which focuses on simplicity, functionality, and the use of minimal decor and furnishings, creates a serene and uncluttered space. The raw and edgy feel of industrial design, inspired by warehouses and factories with exposed brick, metal, and wood, also appeals to me. I appreciate the elegance and history of traditional design with its rich colors, ornate details, and antique furniture. The creativity and freedom of bohemian design, which is eclectic and vibrant, mixing patterns, colors, and various cultural influences, is another style I enjoy. Scandinavian design, emphasizing simplicity, functionality, and a connection to nature with light colors and natural materials, is both cozy and practical.
My design process begins with an initial consultation to understand the client's needs, preferences, and budget. I then create a design concept based on this consultation, including mood boards and sketches. Developing detailed floor plans and layouts helps optimize the use of space. I refine the design by selecting materials, colors, and finishes, and oversee the execution of the design, coordinating with contractors and suppliers. Finally, I add accessories and decor to complete the look and make the space truly unique. With my flair for interior design and experience in completing multiple projects, I bring practical insights and creative ideas to each project, making them unique and personalized, often gravitating towards styles and elements that reflect the personality and needs of those I design for.
Below are some samples of work where I have used both virtual staging of rooms as well as traditional interior decorating.
